In this session, expert speaker Chrys D. Lemon will address what the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has been doing regarding its oversight of consumer financial protection law as it relates to mortgages and the marketing of add-on products. You will understand the regulations, enforcement actions and questions about the Bureau's jurisdiction, as well as efforts by Congress to rein in the Bureau. Chrys will cover important topics such as mortgage regulation, marketing of add on products, oversight of service providers, and development of compliance management systems.
The session will focus on strategies for institutions to develop and maintain a compliance management system, including oversight of service providers. You will be provided with a checklist that can be used to develop a compliance management system. Also, you will be able to explore significant CFPB regulatory actions and understand the legal landscape. Additionally, Chrys will explore the efforts made by the new Congress to restrict activities of the CFPB.
