How well have you been Able to Define, Measure and Allocate ‘Risk’ at your Bank?
Various mid-sized community banks have been increasingly facing the regulatory expectations for risk management. You face various problems like competitive pressure from other industries, increased reliance on technology as well as limited near-term prospects for revenue growth. Risk-management here can work as a competitive advantage.
Expert speaker Tally Ferguson CFA, in this seminar would address the challenges of defining, measuring and allocating risk. His presentation would aim at various challenges you face when you misdiagnose risk and manage it ineffectively. It is observed that Enterprise-wide risk s a much discussed, but little defined concept. Participants of this seminar will learn a pragmatic approach for defining “risk” at commercial banks. The speaker would discuss various sources of risks common to mid-size or smaller commercial banks, and would explore measurement techniques for these risks. The focus of this seminar will be on enterprise-wide risks and would continue to explore measurements that would allow banks to aggregate risks across different business lines and risk sources.
The second-half of the presentation will construct tools which would allocate risks using measurements that have been already covered in the first half. The tools will be comprehensive but sufficiently basic for attendees to replicate. The topic of accessing more sophisticated solutions will also be discussed.
