How IRS Policies and Procedures Will Play Out in 2017
Over the past several years, the IRS has seen significant budget cuts with a corresponding reduction in the quality of service provided. While the IRS has dramatically reduced its enforcement efforts as a result, the agency also announced an initiative last fall to turn over debt collection from taxpayers to four private contractors. The IRS is also increasing its collections offshore accounts, and it recently announced that it has collected $10 billion from its efforts in encouraging voluntary disclosure and non-prosecution agreements.
Join this session by industry veteran Robert E. Mckenzie, which will examine all of the IRS methods used in this new environment. Robert will cover the new priorities and procedures for IRS examination and collection, and will discuss IRS criminal investigation initiatives. He will also address the recent important developments for practitioners, taxpayer advocate services, new procedures at IRS campuses, and the impact of the new IRS leadership.
